DFW Brass Holiday Concert

Thanks to all of you who joined us for the DFW Brass Holiday concert on December 21st!

The concert was held at the Frisco Heritage Museum, so our audience could enjoy the displays about local history as well as the concert.

The DFW Brass quintet's program included holiday favorites such as "The Holly and the Ivy" and "I Saw Three Ships," and also included "Christmas Time is Here" from A Charlie Brown Christmas and closed with "Jingle Bell Rock."

This concert also provided the chance for percussionist Patrick Herring to find some creative solutions to logistical problems. DFW Brass wanted to perform Leroy Anderson's Sleigh Ride, which technically requires 3 percussionists. Patrick cleverly attached sleigh bells to the foot pedal of his drum kit with bungee cords, rigged wood blocks (to sound like the clip-clopping of horse hooves) to be played with one hand, and handled the slap of wooden boards (for the whip crack) with the other. Three cheers for Patrick!

Our audience was also gifted with ornaments in the shape of our new logo.

We hope you'll display these year-round and remember to put all our concert dates on your calendar!

Thanks for joining us for this holiday party. Happy new year and see you in 2019!
